Nicki Minaj has officially announced her pregnancy today on Instagram. Speculations have been swarming for months, and the confirmation is finally here. Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are expecting their first child.

Nicki become Mrs. Petty on October 22nd of last year. The two were childhood friends and a couple prior to Nicki’s big break in the music industry. Petty has a history of criminal charges. He is labeled as a level-two sex offender by the New York State Police Department, after being charged with rape at the age of fifteen. He also plead guilty to manslaughter and did seven years in prison. Nicki’s brother was sentenced to life in prison for rape, so she is familiar with the severity of these situations. However, she stands by her man and says that the initial case was not what it appears.

A month prior to Nicki’s official marriage date, she spoke about retiring from the music industry to focus on her family. At this moment, we may have suspected a pregnancy. From then to now, Nicki has posted taking Petty to her home country, she has gone quiet, and she has returned. Around May Nicki began tweeting and messing with her fans, hinting that she may be pregnant. After going quiet for sometime, a fan asked for a pregnancy photo, in which Nicki responded “in a couple months.” She also talked about her cravings and nausea. Though, Nicki is such a troll on Twitter, it was too soon to tell for sure if she was promoting a new song, or really pregnant.

Nicki Minaj of course shocked the world when she collaborated with rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine once again, after all the heat he has been getting in the industry for being a snitch. Minaj again, stated that she did not need anyones approval on who she should work with. I personally suspected this move was for her to get a bag for her newborn, but the video left me curious.

I watched the Trollz video once, but paused and rewound a hundred times. I did not care what the song was about, but I was trying to see her baby bump while she is wearing next to nothing in this video. If you really pay attention, she is covering the bump in every shot one way or another, and she is doing it well. Watching the video the entire time, it was like she was hiding something from us on purpose. But I could not tell for sure.

Nicki absolutely knows how to keep her fans on the edge of their seats. We’ve been waiting for months to finally know, and now we know. Of course, Nicki went over the top with the pregnancy reveal photoshoot. More photos below.

I am interested to see how much music, if any, she puts out prior to giving birth. Cardi B put out an album and performed on multiple stages right up until her pregnancy. JT from City Girls did the same at a smaller scale. It would be unlike Nicki to let anyone else take her grinding shine.
