Eminem, 50 Cent, G-Unit, D12

Earlier this week, 50 Cent announced a new spin of series of his STARZ television series, Power. Fans have gone crazy for the show and trying to solve the mystery on their own. Soon, they may get some more insights into the character, Tommy, whom the spin-off series should focus around. Naturally, 50 Cent went on a media run doing interviews to talk about the series, but we want to know what’s really going on with his music career.

50 Cent released an official This Is 50 interview going into his whole mindset behind the six seasons of Power, and how it will live on with the new series. Seemingly out of no where, June Archer asks 50 Cent if he would ever do a collaboration album, or another verse on a song with Eminem. He compared their relationship to Jay-Z and Kanye, and asked if 50 would be interested in doing something like Watch The Throne with Eminem.

Quite honestly, 50 Cent felt a little nervous. In the past, Eminem has make jokes about certain lines he has said in songs, or questioned the trouble he would get into on the internet. 50 stated he would never try to go verse for verse with Eminem, and anyone who thinks they can is out of their mind, and should stop. However, he did say that we could probably find some unreleased tracks from the duo in the past. He said they have plenty of released records that we have not heard yet, because once they get a bit timely, it is on to the next project. June Archer repeated himself, “you guys should work on a collaboration album-for the culture.” At this point, I am sure 50 Cent knew exactly what he was doing. I am not sure how 50’s verses would go, but I would absolutely be here for this album.

50 Cent then told us they are still connected, and Eminem will always be a very important person to him. He shared their latest text conversation, when Eminem out of the blue texted 50 Cent quoting his verse in the Pop Smoke song The Woo. So, it is clear that the respect is still there on Eminem’s side as well. However, 50 Cent did mention that if this came from any of the other guys, who I am assuming he meant G-Unit, it would not mean the same thing. Eminem’s career is much larger and stronger than the rest, and he never stopped putting in the work.

Interestingly enough, 50 Cent also did an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, who elaborated further on this subtle G-Unit diss. DJ Whoo Kid and 50 Cent seem to have a really strong relationship, and were laughing and joking the whole time. Though at one point, Whoo Kid brings up the fact that we have an NWA movie, multiple Tupac movies, and questions when we will receive a G-Unit movie. Detrimental to my ears, 50 Cent says he has no interest in doing that, and would like to forget about the G-Unit days. Just as I am, Whoo Kid was alarmed and said the fans demand this (he was demanding it, really). 50 went on to say Kendrick Lamar does not let the TDE crew come anywhere near him, and he could have acted differently. Sadly, it seems he is not folding on this G-Unit movie reunion.

Where 50 Cent has had such a great run with his television series, you would think that 50 Cent would jump on the opportunity to have a movie telling the story of his own life. He for sure would pocket hugely off of this, and would great for the culture. Obviously, The Game falling out was heavy. The rest of the crew have gotten into all sorts of trouble. 50 may just feel that they are still not ready to be serious partners, which I understand.

The Game recently lost a five year battle against a sexual assault case, leaving him to owe 7.1 million dollars to his alleged victim. 50 Cent actually also just lost a five year battle to Rick Ross, where 50 was the suer, claiming rights for a beat that Rick Ross repurposed and pocketed off of. Interestingly enough, now Lloyd Banks is beefing with Rick Ross. Well, Rick Ross is continuously trolling Lloyd Banks for allegedly being broke with the last name “Banks.” Lloyd refuses to indulge in what he calls, “the circus.”

Earlier this year, Young Buck came home from prison, after violating his parole. Tony Yayo did perform on stage with 50 Cent in 2018 at a festival. Though, after Lloyd Banks officially quit the group this same year, Banks and Yayo went to Australia in attempts to bring the group together again overseas. I am sure this was the end of both, to 50 Cent. Kidd Kidd joined the group pretty late. I would say, after their prime, in 2014. He added a young, exciting spark to the group. A few years later, he left G-Unit to formulate his own label, RLLNR Entertainment.

Needless to say, the crew is in sorts of a mess right now. Maybe if we all survive the coronavirus and everyone gets their heads on straight, we can try again for this. I would kill for the G-Unit movie. But I would settle for a 50 Cent and Eminem collaboration album, in the meantime.
