Another young soul is gone, way too soon. Pop Smoke was just twenty years old, and was murdered today in his own in Hollywood Hills. Police are still looking for the suspects and the motive, but are certain they will soon find the answers. The killing is associated with an armed robbery. In my opinion, there is no doubt that the suspects were gang members whom had been following Pop Smoke on his socials since he has blown up, and followed him to where he been staying. Hollywood Hills is a popular area where artists rent, and since that is so well known, can cause the wrong people to become curious. With that, I am sure there are cameras everywhere and we will have more to update soon.

I was sad about Juice WRLD because I knew how much my brother loved him. I’m sad about Pop Smoke, because of how much I loved him! A new, young rapper in today’s age of hip-hop, that still sounds super gutter, hardcore, honestly almost scary. However, he does it in a way that he still appeals to the hip-hop hits today, by the content he puts into his music. Party songs, fashion labels, etc. I love an artist that can have their own sound and taste, but clearly has done work and studied to make sense in today’s market. If you’re unsure of Pop Smoke’s music, just play “Dior” or “Welcome to the Party”. I’m sure you’ll be like “ooohhh my god this guy!? No way!”

I had just tweeted about Pop Smoke last week. He had just put out a new project, and I had to download that and everything else he had on Apple Music. I was so intrigued by his voice and excited to hear more of his music and learn more about him and where he came from. It’s terribly sad that I’m not surprised. This stuff keeps continuing to happen and it hurts me. I don’t even personally know these guys, but as fans of music, I think we are all connected.

Instagram poored with love from all kind of artists in the industry. What I found most interesting, maybe because he was such a young soul with a different sound that has just started to blow up, there was a consistent message. I felt like everyone that I saw speaking on the death of Pop Smoke, mentioned jealousy. 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, and many others shared their condolences with photos, stating that with success, comes jealousy. It’s obvious that Pop Smoke had a target on his back, for a group of masked men to do such a horrible thing. It is also quite clear how much of an impact he has had in hip-hop in such a short amount of time. I’m really distraught that I won’t be hearing more from Pop Smoke, but I hope the violence ends here.
