SNL Sign Off

This weekend, Saturday Night Live concluded it’s 47th season, which also concluded the contracts of several comedians known and loved from the show. Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney and Pete Davidson are all expected to step away from the comedic television show after many seasons of laughter.
Pete Davidson has certainly become more and more of a phenomenon in different aspects of the culture since joining SNL. While he is sure to have plenty of other business aside from his Live televised comedy skits, he made sure to go out with a bang. Though the skit was cut for time on the episode itself, a Pete Davidson skit is going viral online included none other, than the artist he inmates the most, Eminem.
Back in 2020, for a Christmas episode, Pete Davidson remixed Stan, using the name Stu, demanding a PS5 from Santa Clause. Last year, Pete Davidson remixed Without Me, for a lesson on NFTs. This one featured a surprise cameo from Jack Harlow, which was pretty hysterical.
The latest parody is a take on Forgot About Dre. Pete finds his co-star, Lorne, has written a music video that he wants to perform together before Pete’s departure, so he does just that. During filming, Eminem walks through the set and tells Pete that his parodies are all terrible, and makes him promise to never do them again. Pete acknowledges Eminem saying it’s his third one, and they are tributes to him, but Eminem tears them a part.
Obviously all in good fun, but did Eminem kick Pete Davidson off a SNL for bad skits? Certainly the best way to close out one chapter of his book, that is SNL.
