Styling A Mega Platform Sneaker

6.4.20

Chunky dad shoes are one thing, but about what about a chunky platform? The Buffalo London is a really popular style in female streetwear, and there are plenty of other brands that have picked up on the ideas of chunky platform sneaker. This is a lot all in one, but it really works with anything. Got a cool pair of baggy pants but you want to show off your sneakers, too? Have a cute dress that you want to dress down but only with classy sneakers? What about a super sporty look, that you want to dress up with your sneakers? We’ve got you.

PUMA did a collaboration with Buffalo London about a year ago. Though these sneakers are wild for some, they are probably my most worn pair of sneakers. I love wearing them so many different styles of outfits. Let us not forget they make me five-two.

Also, shout out to Ariana Grande for rocking a pair of chunky platforms during a protest this week. I have no idea how she walked this long in them. But, I also do not tie mine, so that probably helps.

Sporty Spice

Yes, she was my favorite Spice Girl. But how about this outfit? All PUMA everything. Bodysuits and biker shorts are both my favorite summer pieces separately, together? Even better. These two blend perfectly together, making it look like it could be a romper. This mini backpack is cute, and sporty, fitting right in. Spice it up, by throwing on these platform sneakers in a nice cream and white. Colors are simple, allowing the class to shine through this sporty, fierce look.

Everything Big

Chunky platforms, chunky bracelet, boxy handbag, baggy pants, baggy crop. It is easy to pair a baggy tee with some fitted leggings, or tuck in a bodysuit to some baggy sweats. But what about an outfit, where everything is big? I think the top being cropped levels out the top and the bottom being bagger. Where, this is super comfortable, but still cute. I see this as a classy brunch in NYC stroll. Just throw in some shades.

Chic and Shorty

I only wear denim shorts that are high waisted and long enough to be appropriate. I am obsessed with these high waisted black shorts from Abercrombie & Fitch. I’m pairing it with this halter crop top that is cream color, which matches the shoes, and a black print to tie into the shorts. This mini backpack makes it cute and adventurous, while the chocker makes it a bit more dressy. This would look super dope with a high pony.

Essence of Floral

The PUMA x Buffalo London is a pretty girly looking shoe. I think it looks amazing with this floral Free People jumpsuit. The pants of the jumpsuit are baggy which I like with the platform chunky sneakers. The top is fitted with a super deep v-neck cut, so I’d wear a tiny white tee underneath. The backpack makes it fun, while the jewelry keeps it chic!

Cotton Candy

Dressing up sneakers is my favorite, and this pairing is no different. This floral print dress is very fitted but super stretchy. I like that the fit offsets the super chunky sneakers, which is also tied together with the boxy handbag. Got a boat cruise or a cute dinner to go to this summer, here is your look!
