Styling the PUMA Mile Rider ‘Queen’

1.29.21

The Mile Rider is the female specific version of PUMA’s popular Rider silhouette. Typically it adds a bit more of a feminine, smooth upper, with plenty of fun colors. As the Rider silhouette is inspired from a more athletic shoe of the past, the ‘Queen’ pulls tons of inspiration from their old famous football boot, the PUMA King. Every King needs his Queen, and with these, you’ll meet your match. A beautiful cream colorway, football boot inspired stitching, a beautiful silver formstripe to shine, with a lime green liner and exaggerated traction on the sole to stand up that much more. The sneakers even have a removable flap to cover the tongue, like football boots (or soccer cleats) do.

I know a lot of people are iffy about this sneaker because of how loud and different that is. But of course, that is what it makes it my favorite. I had so much fun putting together these looks. Whether you decide to dress yours up, or dress it down, you are a Queen, my lady.

Rider Die

This is your causal, but ever so spicy look. I definitely want to play with the lime green details of the sneaker, and enhancing them with this beautiful, cozy crew. Since the sneakers are football/soccer inspired, I paired this with the classic nylon track pant. I love these because they’re cinched on the ankles, and adjustable at the waist. Now, we are not basic and chill, we are queens and chill. Accessorize, with this cute beanie and mini backpack with the standout silver PUMA emblem, just like that standout silver formstripe. Perfect for running errands or just hanging out.

Cloudy Days

This set is the ultimately set of loungewear. It’s silky and cozy, but cute enough to wear out as well. The green is soft and blended, making it an easy match for the kicks, not overpowering in anyway. I would definitely throw on this black teddy for a dark (and warm) layer, and a white beanie to top it off. Just make the look cozy, cute, yet sporty as ever. Perfect look for the mall, movies, or even a coffee date!

Oversized, Overdessed, or Both?

We can dress our sneakers up and down - but don’t forget, you can mix and match in the same look, as well. These gold button embellished tailored pants are to die for. They are causal wear, business wear, a bit fancy and glam, but is this not where streetwear has the potential to go? Throw on your favorite oversized sweater, because even though it is your comfy place, we can make it cute and fashion. I love this pairing with the black pant and small black stripes, to accent the minimal black details in the sneakers. The gold works well with the beige upper, and the gray sweater with the silver formstripe. The greens are different, obviously, but I do not hate that here, we do not need to be exact. I am rocking this look to any fashion formulated event when it is cold out, that is for sure.

A Sporty Glam

My favorite kind, if you ask me. Wearing heels to the bar is a dying trend, especially in the winter, and where we’ve all basically stopped caring since covid?! Anyways, I am rocking my sneakers everywhere I go from now on, and finding that “going out look” is key. This is my favorite bodysuit, which is a thick sweater knit material, but easy to tuck into these high waisted mom-jeans. The paper-bag waist line and bow-tie belt is a super cute look, with just a bit of a cropped hem, making it the perfect pant to show off your kicks. With the all black outfit, I am lightening it up with this vegan leather, cream jacket, and a white beanie. It’s cute, it’s sport, it’s fierce. A look made for a Queen.

The Royal Queen

This is our classy, dressy look of the week - but still so much fun. A super cute set including a high waisted pant - I would say it is more of a loose straight leg than a flare. But easy to cuff to show off the kicks! The top is a crop with the princess seems for a beautiful shape, a scrunched sleeve, and also dips in the back for a bit of extra fun. Spice this look up with some jewelry where you can, and you are ready to take on the night. Whether it’s a dinner, an event, or wherever you are headed, this look will be royalty when you enter the room.

A Dime in Lime

I just had to pull this together for our final look today, because if we are being honest, this color scheme could not be more perfect. This bodycon dress may be difficult to rock. Maybe because of the color, or because of the length and shape. But it is all about how you style the outfit. Here I have this long, cozy cardigan sweater that can pull this head-to-toe look all together. You could wear with a long sleeve shirt underneath, or maybe throw on some legging and a jacket. The options are truly endless, and why not go big, when your sneakers are going bigger?
