The CMG Charm

Glo Rilla FNF

There are only so many artists that have a label as successful as their own music career. When I think about who that person is, it has been Yo Gotti, for years. CMG is a label so strong, that even artists from Detroit to Atlanta come and ride for Memphis. With the latest singee to the label, it’s going to be quite the CMG summer.

Yo Gotti started the CMG label in 1996, as he began growing as an artist, in just his teenage years. He did what he could over the years with different types of deals to help the label increase in desirability, and now has one of the most elite rosters in the rap game. We know Blac Youngsta and Moneybagg Yo have been CMG for quite some time now, and 42 Dugg is a relatively recent signee. However, even just these past six months, Gotti has been getting to work signing new talent to the crew.

EST Gee was a no brainer for Gotti. A new talent from Louisville, whose sound fit right into the southern crew of hip-hop champions. Then, he signed Mozzy. A Sacramento native who deserves all the credit in the world for doing what he has done for his career, and his family’s, on his own. But this extra boost from CMG is sure to put him on the map that he deserves to be on. Gotti recently signed Lil Poppa, and added R&B artist from Delaware to his label, Lehla Samia.

He is not done just yet, though. Over the weekend, Yo Gotti announced his new signee, Glo Rilla to CMG. Glo Rilla is a hip-hop/rap female artist from Memphis, herself. Her hit single FNF released two months ago and went absolutely crazy on YouTube, with over 22,000,000 views so far. The world adored her energy and authenticity as her and her friends were out having the times of their lives for the music video, all without much hair and makeup, wearing something casual that anyone could afford.

Glo’s sound is familiar to fans of Memphis rap music. She sounds like she belongs on this team, and her energy certainly matches. Her and Yo Gotti both shared the video of her signing the contract to join CMG. Glo and all of her girls met Gotti on a Private Jet. There was champagne, an incredible chain, and piles on piles of cash. All of Glo Rilla’s girlfriends were going absolutely nuts singing her song on the jet, and Gotti loved every moment, celebrating his new signee. Glo’s comment section was absolutely flooded with congrats from huge names; like label mates Blac Youngsta and Moneybagg Yo, Latto, Lakeyah, JT, Coi, Leray, DJ Duffey, Dreezy, Yachty, Jacquees, Mariah Lynn, and so much more.

Yes, the ladies sure are hyping each other up, so you already know I am calling Glo Rilla up next. She will be performing at Rolling Loud New York, and with this team behind her, I expect a set to be remembered for quite some time.

Glo Rilla is the first hip-hop/rap female artist on the label, after just signing Lehla Samia as a singer/R&B artists. These ladies on a Mozzy track, or really with anyone on this label, is about to go crazy. I really do not think CMG can be beat. What label comes to mind?
