The Millennium Tour Meltdown
10.18.21
The Millennium Tour is something that the people have been wanting for a long time now, and even has sparked a number of tours like it, since announcing that it was finally happening. The tour includes some of your favorite acts from the early 2000s, from Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd, Pretty Ricky, Soulja Boy, Ashanti, and, your headliners, Omarion and Bow Wow. While it seems like the ultimate tour to sing, dance and reminisce your heart out, unfortunately, it seems like things are a bit rocky.
Bow Wow has certainly had his ups and downs with the industry, and is not afraid to talk his talk. Coming off of his Verzuz with Soulja Boy, they had quite the friendly scuffle, and surely both catapulted themselves back to relevance and key points of industry in the hip-hop space. Now, as Bow Wow is meant to headline the Millennium Tour, it appears things are not as he has pleased, and he has actually taken to social media to threaten quitting the tour, which is due to last throughout December.
Now, I (unfortunately) have not yet made it out to a tour stop, but, according to Bow Wow he has only been giving fifteen minute set times, when the rest of the crew has between thirty to forty-five. This definitely does sound fishy for someone who is one of the two at the top of the Tour Ad. Bow Wow first took his anger out during an Instagram Live, which was recorded and can still be watching on The Shade Room. Bow Wow shared he felt he was the best act, that fans were coming out to the show specifically for him, and that although he felt he was being treated unfairly, he was ready to put on the best show Atlanta has ever seen that night, just to prove his case.
The heated rant did not end here, as Bow Wow took his thoughts to Twitter as well. He expressed wishing he never even did the tour, and how there has been too much complaining going around on the tour, threatening for it to be the last show he did. It does seem like he had a good time in Atlanta, bringing out Jermaine Dupree, 2 Chainz, and TI. I am sure this is not the end of Bow Wow on this tour, but does lead us to ask the question, who are you coming out to see? Is Bow Wow being over dramatic, or is this a new business play?
