Baby Keem A Melodic Blue 9.10.21

Baby Keem is gearing up to drop his album The Melodic Blue tonight, which is gaining a lot of traction. The 2020 XXL Freshman just performed at two festivals, and released new tracks with a number of noticeable featured artists, including his cousin, Kendrick Lamar. The track Family Ties, is a massive hit. However, it is not the only track K.Dot is expected to be on. In fact, another snippet has leaked, and has everyone confused as to what is going on.

The current track list is live, and appears to be sixteen tracks. Pretty solid for a complete album without going overboard. There are three features listed, however they seem to all be the tracks that have been released previously. So, this could be mean there are many more to come. One of them, we are anticipating being another Kendrick Lamar track.

Now that his time with TDE seems to be at its end, Kendrick has plenty of room to do whatever it is that he wants. Creating music with his cousin seems like a great fit for me. Kendrick is not really old school, but not at all the new wave. However, he fits in just fantastically with both. Many look to Kendrick as the GOAT of hip-hop, especially when it comes to lyricism. This is a huge reason why people were confused by the snippet they’ve heard.

Kendrick reportedly will be on three tracks of the upcoming album, including Family Ties, Vent, and Range Brothers. A snippet has leaked from the track Range Brothers specifically that has people talking. On the track, Kendrick can be heard repeatedly citing, “Let’s get this shit/Let’s get this shit/Let’s get this shit” and “Top o’ the morning/Top o’ the morning/Top o’ the morning.” Additional adlibs are just comical, and the internet is roaring in laughter and confusion.

Is this the end of people viewing Kendrick as the GOAT of rap and lyricism? Is it a new era of technique? Or is Kendrick just having fun for now?
