Trouble in Slimeville
5.10.22
Young Thug, Gunna and a deep roster of Young Stoner Life Records are in trouble, as they have been indicted on RICO charges. It currently appears that there have been 28 people named in this case, all somehow connected to YSL, in a 56 count indictment which includes RICO, theft, gang violence, murder and more. Other familiar members of YSL included in this case are Unfook, Yak Gotti, Duke and more.
Ultimately, the indiction stems from previous acts of violence stemming from years past. Allegedly, the courts are looking to prove that YSL is a Blood affiliated gang that started in 2012. A murder happened in 2015, where allegedly, Young Thug has rented the car which was used during the murder of a rival gang member.
If the case had never been closed, this would cause authorities to continue to look into the situation. Though, some reports are saying that two YSL associates had requested permission of Young Thug to complete a “second attempt” to murder rapper YFN Lucci, while he was in prison. Lucci has been in jail for a year now, on racketeering charges himself. So, this part is definitely new news, and the two artists do have a long lasting beef stemming from self-proclamation of being the better artist, back in 2017.
The list of people involved, as well as their charges has been released. Gunna has one charge of racketeering, Young Thug has two: one of racketeering, and the second for street gang activity. While there are so many other charges involved in this case, the court will attempt to prove YSL is a gang, in which case, all gang members can receive the charges listed, across the board. RICO charges are not what we want to see for two top tier artists in the industry, that are not only making their own music that everyone wants to hear, but building a whole roster of next up talent.
Thug’s lawyer says that he committed no crime whatsoever, and will fight until he is cleared. Thug is due to make his first court appearance today at 11:30AM.
