Dream Doll goes for the shock factor with her new hit single, Tryouts, which is said to be the lead single for her upcoming project Life In Plastic 3. As a female hip-hop artist that seems to be constantly looked over, Dream Doll is on top of the trends and plays her cards to the best of her ability. Most recently she worked with trending new artist Erica Banks on her viral hit Toot That. While Dream Doll’s overall discography is deep but not widely known, this new track is surely to make some noise.

Tryouts is all about being over men, and potentially trying relationships with women, instead. Dream Doll has dated Lil Uzi Vert in the past, after her time on Bag Girls Club. She is mostly recently known for dating YBN Almighty Jay, but ultimately broke up a little over a year ago. Almighty Jay shared social posts about missing Dream Doll, but she stood her ground and plead to stay away. Apparently, single Dream is over the men, and has her eyes on a number of women.

This track calls out dozens of women’s, and Dream Doll’s complimentary thoughts on each one of them. Name dropping seems to always be a shock factor, whether for the good, or the bad. When listening to this record, it instantly brought me back to Nicki Minaj’s Barbie Dreams from her 2018 album, Queen. Nicki’s track was kind of like a comedy diss record. Calling out Young Thug for wearing dresses, and DJ Khaled for not eating…never mind.

Nicki’s track sampled a Biggie Smalls song. Tryouts is a different beat, but does sound like a 90s club hip-hop anthem. Dream Doll definitely takes inspiration from Barbie Dreams, however, by her energy to name drop across and entire song, and pick up on things in pop-culture that are relevant to each artist to tie into her song.

The list goes on and on from the females recognized in this track. From Nia Love, the City Girls, Coi Leray, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lori Harvey, Saweetie, Rubi Rose, Rihanna, Suki, Lala Anthony, Kehlani, Jhenè Aiko, and plenty more.

Ari Feltcher has certainly been topic of discussion lately, in her very public relationship triangle drama. Ari has a son with Chicago rapper G Herbo, but the relationship did not end well. She now seems to be happier than ever with Moneybagg Yo, even though G Hebro did show up to her birthday party last weekend. Dream Doll did make sure to acknowledge most of the ladies whom were in relationships, by saying she’d have Moneybagg mad at both of them.

One of my favorite couples is Tiana Taylor and Iman Shumpert. No doubt Tiana has the moves, but Dream Doll is putting Iman on the sidelines saying he can only watch. Similarly, Dream Doll wants to ride Megan like a stallion, and have Pardi watching in the background just calling them crazy. Seems like a realistic scenario with me, with how playful Megan and Pardi’s relationship seems to be. However, Dream is a little less funny when it comes to Gucci Mane, because she claims she wants to steal Keyshia away, completely!

It would not be a female hip-hop honorary track without addressing Cardi and Nicki. Of course, the tea here was Dream Doll’s dream, is having a minaj with the two legendary female rappers.

All bars are quotables and shock factors, but there was one in particular that stood out. Over the past year, Mulatto has certainly taken her career to the next level. She became a XXL Freshman, dropped and album, then the deluxe, and has gained some massive features under her belt, including one with her favorite rapper, Gucci Mane. Being the public eye, people get into your business. When Mulatto shared that she was in love, but not with who, the fans began to speculate.

The main culprit of Mulatto’s mystery love man, was dubbed 21 Savage by the detectives - I mean fans - of the internet. 21 Savage had posted a photo of her once, they had been seen posting images on islands at the same time that seemed to look quite similar. Once, fans even pointed out a shadow of the man taking a photo of Mulatto appeared to be the silhouette of 21 Savage. While rumors are still up in the air, Dream Doll may have just spilt the tea. In final verse, Dream Doll says:

And Mulatto, yeah, that's my lil' honey bun
Asked her how many times she came, she said, "21, 21”

It could be a coincidence, for the love of the song, but it is hysterical, and certainly has us wondering once again.

Dream Doll killed it on this track, just like she does on whatever she touches. Let’s see how the ladies involved respond to this one.
