YK Osiris has been the butt of every joke in hip-hop for a little bit, now. People love to poke fun and make jokes, and from the perspective of social media, it may have seemed like this is the image YK Osiris was purposely displaying, for one reason or another. However, we cannot forget the massive records he’s put out in the past, like Freaky Dancer, Worth It, and more. Today, he released a new single and music video, and her really lays it all out for us.

The new single, Dear Fans, is YK Osiris’ first independent project he has released. He mentions he had to go through a lot for the opportunity to release the project, so it could be that Osiris was dealing with major label issues behind the scenes, like many other large names in music express loudly. Within the music video, Osiris is talking to himself, represented as a therapist. After expressing his mental struggles, and trying to find himself again, he states he wants to write a letter to his fans, so they can learn about the real him.

This single is certainly deep, discussing hardships in life and learning about fake friendships. Though, he remembers what he does it all for, and really crushed it on the vocals.

While social media can really jumpstart someone’s career, it does not define who they are as a person. Now that YK Osiris appears to be free of any label peer pressure, YK Osiris can hopefully be his full true self moving forward in his music, and his personal image.
