Business Is Business
6.27.23
It has been over a year since Young Thug has been behind bars. Gunna, who was arrested along side Thug but released early, shared a new album on June 16th. Just a week later, Thug shares his new album, while still behind bars. The title, Business Is Business. Thug is continuing to push that narrative further with a Metro Version of the album with additional major feature from Nicki Minaj.
The album was already a massive deal, as fans have been waiting for new music from Young Thug for over a year now. To make the project even more appealing, it includes features from Drake, 21 Savage, Future, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert and more. The metro version of the album that just dropped includes one new solo track, as well as a new single with features from Nicki Minaj and Juice WRLD.
Nicki Minaj has since went Live on her Instagram page saying hip-hop cannot be hip-hop without Young Thug and enjoyed being included on the project. Juice WRLD’s placement on the album fit right in, and is the second posthumous album in the past week, after Cordae released the Doomsday single. Truly, this project is a treat for everyone.
Young Thug’s album is projected to sell 110,000 units week one for a competitive chance to take the Number 1 spot, which would be the first hip-hop album to hit number one week one, this year.
What is next for Young Thug? That remains unclear. However, he did also share an Instagram story asking Kanye West to pick of the phone, “business is business.”
What did you think of the Business is Business album? Should Thug drop a new single with Kanye?
