Bronze56K and DC Shoes are both skate brands. DC has been known for their footwear for quite some time now. I remember wearing DC skate shoes in sixth grade, pretty regularly along with my Nike SB from Journey’s. Bronze56K have been making their way out of just being friends that skated and filmed together, to also having their own skate clothing brand. The two have joined together to reimagine the Lukoda silhouette from 1999.

The silhouette is a chunky skate shoe, which really looks like a flat trail sneaker. This is especially true for the brown and black colorway, with thick black traction on the sole and large logo branding throughout. The second colorway is a more subtle white and blue, which looks like anyone could run around, or skate in. The shoes also drop alongside a matching t-shirt for each pair, as well as a nice, co-branded backpack in navy and white.

These are likely not your typical sneaker-head pick up, unless you still skate DC Shoes. However, the meaning behind this launch is greater than all. DC Shoes will be donating 100% of the proceeds from this collection to Black Lives Matter. Skating has always been a community for people of all different stories and backgrounds to come together peacefully, and I think this is an amazing thing the two brands have vowed to exercise.
