A year into the announcement of Jaden Smith’s contract with New Balance, the two are finally ready to release a signature shoe. This could not have come at a better time for the family, as I am sure they are looking for something to celebrate. But that is a story for a different section of this blog.

Jaden Smith showcases his take on the New Balance Vision Runner. The inline Vision Runner has a thick sole that thins as it peels towards the toe box at the shoe. There are some details that comes out, kind of like the Nike x Undercover Daybreak, but much more subtle. Jaden Smith’s take on the silhouette, is anything but.

First of all, the “wavy baby blue” colorway is a stunner alone. It is bold, bright, and will take a confident man to wear these. It is definitely doable. Some nice grays or neutrals will be fine with these sneakers. I personally love the materials and the lacing system. This the classic part to the sneaker that just looks really nice and feels super wearable. Then, you have this gigantic bubbly sole. Chunky sneakers are in, but this just takes that to a whole other level. Jaden is known for constantly rocking the Louis Vuitton Runner with the midsole that spikes all the way up in the mid arch of the sneaker, so this seems to take inspiration from that.

I really do not think I’ve seen a chunky sole like this before. Typically brands they to make it blend it one way or the other. This is just so round and out there. But truthfully, I think I am going to get these. I love chunky sneakers, I am into the color, and really just rocking kicks that other people would be afraid to. Besides that, let’s be honest, Jaden Smith has the fashion vision.
