Post Malone, Extremely Passionate or Internally Hurting

Post Malone’s health and safety has recently been brought to the attention of many. Fans are concerned that he may be on drugs or emotionally unstable, after videos emerge from his recent performances on tour. Others think that is just his stage act.

I am surprised it has taken this long for someone to say something. I saw Post in concert this past November for the first time. I like some of Post Malone’s stuff, but I am not a die-hard like many of his fans are. So, while I was at the show I was really examining his ability to perform, how the crowd reacts to the music, what the set was like, etc. I instantly thought it was weird that his stage was a runway. Usually, artists just have a thick, rectangular area where they can dance, run back and forth from one side of the arena to the other, and have fun with the whole crowd. This runway stage was long and thin, so he had to walk up and down this runway, while remaining in the middle of the arena the entire time.

Next, I saw these emotions that people are filming and worried about. The way he grasps the mic, basically swallowing it as he sings with his eyes closed, leaning so far forward til he is on his knees. So some are like, wow look at how passionate he is about his music. But I was instantly like, he is depressed and truly hurting inside. Music is an outlet for so many, and emotional rappers are taking over hip-hop today, so it’s not news to us. I am sure Post also uses his music to release stress, but if it gets like this every night that he has to perform, this is going to take a toll.

So I was not shocked when I saw people sharing screenshots of his attitude when he performs. But it was a bit cringeworthy seeing videos of him trying to talk to fans after a show and not being able to formulate sentences. Since the allegations, Post Malone has said that he has never felt better and he is not on drugs. But, if he was on drugs, would he tell us? Also but, that doesn’t count out alcohol. To get help, you must want help. I will not put anything more on the man, I just know what he means to music, and it would be devastating to have another situation like Chester Bennington, because we didn’t listen to what he was so clearly showing us.

Verdict: Help Posty Find Happiness.
