Quavo, Offset, Takeoff of the Migos

Quavo, Offset, Takeoff of the Migos

Migos has been the most influential rap trio in the past decade. However, do groups ever last? Does anything? While the group has continued to drop new singles every here and there, it has been two years since their last album. We may be receiving Culture III at some point by the end of this year, which should determine the fate of what is next for the rap group.

Recent days have been rough for Migos. Of course, Cardi B shared with the world her plan to divorce from Offset, who was not in agreement with the separation. While Quavo seems to be quite happily in love with his girlfriend Saweetie, he was forced to come for Akademiks for speaking negatively on her. Takeoff…umm…still left off Bad and Boujee. But actually, he is in some big trouble as he is facing rape allegations from a woman he allegedly met at a house party in LA. The team is denying these allegations are anything close to the truth. As a whole, the group sued their attorney for allegedly stealing funds from the group. Finally, when performing new song Birkin at the iHeart Radio 2020 Festival, fans hated it and told Quavo to get his own gig before they all go under.

The Migo’s iHeart Radio performance can be watched in full on YouTube. It appears they only performed the chorus of Birkin, which should be on their upcoming album, if we are still able to receive. I did find what may be the whole version of the song as well, but overall, you get the gist of the repeated quote of the song:

She want a Birkin, I tell her work it. She want a Birkin, I tell work it.

Well, Migos. We are not out here buying Birkin’s, all we want is for Offset to make Cardi B happy and for you guys to give us some more hits like Black Beetles and Bad and Boujee. However, you have failed to do any of those things.

Quite frankly, I said Migos was over after they dropped Culture II. I thought it was terrible, and I am surprised they have made it this far. Not only have fans reacting to this new song apparently realized this is their truth, it was also discussed in length on the Breakfast Club.

Akademiks and his team all put Migos on “The Clock,” suggesting if they do not drop a dope album by the top of the year, people will not rock with them the way we have been for many years. Sure, they just dropped with NBA Youngboy, and have Racks too Skinny. However, the undeniable jam tunes are just not coming through like they used to. Akademiks explains it quite well, saying we loved the bando, street, trap rappers that Migos once was. Now, not only are they overdoing the adlibs just to sound like the mainstream kids today, but the content they rap about does not add up to their lifestyle any longer. Hollywood has taken over the Migos, and they are now more of a business, than a relatable rap group.

To this, Quavo responds and wants Akademiks to pull up. The Migos have gotten themselves into quite a few physical fights since their fame, so this Tweet may get some wound up. However, Akademiks just says, let’s set it up. I am sure he would love to grill Quavo about how the Migos plan to move business forward from here.

Pull Up And Chop IT up Like a man I promise I ain got hit you!!! Jus wanna play u these new MIGOS records since you think sh*t sweet! And stop bashin my girl she’s a Female but if I tell her to go in yo sh*t SHE WOULD so watch the trash word internet girl - @quavostuntin

Apparently Akademiks called Saweetie’s music trash during one of his Twitch livestreams. Of course, Akademiks and the Migos have not been on the best of terms since that time he had to break up the Migos and Joe Budden during an interview. So, from the history, to all of these comments hitting home for Quavo, he just had to come from Akademiks.

The fan comments are hysterical, and I cannot blame the Breakfast Club for their thoughts on the Migos. I definitely do not think they have put out a good song since Motorsport, and that was with the help of two of the largest females in hip-hop, who allegedly hate each other. The Migos were a dying bread for me two years ago. This Culture III needs to be the party anthem of the decade, or else it is a wrap for the trio. There is really no excuse at this point, what have they been doing all quarantine? I know not at the same house being a good husband to Cardi B!
