This feels absolutely unreal. We loose people everyday, and crazy things happen, but Kobe? I just feel like he was supposed to be invincible. Like nothing could take him down. Kobe may have had a controversial start to his career, but he will leave a forever positive impact on the game of basketball, and everyone who had enjoyed it. Though he retired almost four years ago, he was constantly at games, teaching his daughter GiGi more about the game, and always doing something in the public eye to give back in some sort of way.

Kobe Bryant and his daughter GiGi were two out of nine whom passed away in a helicopter crash. The helicopter included other teammates of GiGi’s, as well as parents, whom were on their way to a practice. We learned that Kobe preferred taking his helicopter around, to avoid the heavy traffic in California. Reports say that the area was incredibly foggy, and the helicopter was flying too low to navigate through the violent weather. I absolutely cannot imagine what Vanessa must be going through, or the other families involved.

The Lakers will postpone their game, as I’m sure they’re going to need some time to process this news. I know this one is going to be rough for LBJ. I am also sure that we will see memorials, services, and dedications across the NBA and other cultural functions as well, for the next few weeks to come. The Grammy’s went on last night, where everyone in an interview or on stage had mentioned and acknowledged their love and appreciate, and sadness in regards to Kobe. Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch and others were scheduled to perform a Nipsey Hussle dedication tribute song. Production was able to include Kobe’s image side by side with Nipsey’s during this performance, in order to give respect to both of the late legends.

RIP Kobe and GiGi. The Mamba Mentality will live on, forever.
