Super Bowl LIV
2.3.20
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are the new Super Bowl Champions. The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20, each finishing the season with a 15-4 record. I am pretty indifferent to the results of the game. Being a Patriots fan, I am still really distraught that we weren’t in the Super Bowl this year. Call me selfish, whatever. On one hand, if Jimmy G won the Super Bowl, it would be like one of our own had won, like Bill Belichick and Tom Brady set him up with the tools and skills he needed to win a Super Bowl (if your’e a crazy New England fan, you think this way). But then, I really thought that the man on the Madden 2020 cover who had an incredible past two seasons really deserved the win. And I love me some Travis Kelce.
At halftime, we had a tie game. The 49ers went ahead in the third, and the Chiefs made a comeback in the fourth quarter leading them to victory. Not a perfect game, but who doesn’t love a fourth quarter comeback? On top of the game, the commercials were good. I liked Post Malone trashing the Seven Eleven, and the Rick and Morty Pringles commercial. Most importantly, half time show was killer. Shakira and J. Lo both looked absolutely stunning and their performances were amazing. We had a dance party at my house embracing the hits we grew up to.
Overall Super Bowl Sunday was a goodnight. The only thing that messed up my night was whatever was going on with Megan Thee Stallion and G-Eazy. That was not the distraction I needed during the game. Anyways, congrats to Mahomes and team. Patriots for Super Bowl 2021.
