Jordan x Dior

4.15.20

The Dior x Jordan collaboration drove a lot of heat, and is continuing to do so. First, we received a Jordan 1 Hi, then the Lo, and next, we can expect a whole apparel collaboration. Luxury fashion brands go hand-in-hand, from rappers wearing Jordans with Versace, Virgil Abloh taking over at Louis Vuitton, and luxury brands overall just taking an interest in being a member of the sneaker world.

Kim Jones, the creative direct for Dior Men’s take his shot at his collaboration with Jordan. Now you have two types of people going after the product. Sneaker heads, and luxury brand shoppers. The sneakers for me were a sub-par, not my favorite. They look like a gray custom with a Dior logo print wallet sewn into the swoosh, which every customizer is doing nowadays. Nothing wrong with that, just wouldn’t waste the big money on them. The apparel though, I like this.

Overall, I think the apparel is classy, without being overly obnoxiously sneaker-head branded. The way that most of the world is just over Supreme and Bape, or a played out collab, I think Dior is okay here. The collection is mostly neutrals and navy, giving it a true sophisticated, cohesive feel. I love the cream sweater with the Air Dior logo. It’s in your face to say, I copped, but still classy enough to wear it to whatever function you have to look nice for. The track suit pays homage to Jordan being a baller athlete, while still knowing how to dress right before or after the game. The bucket hats and shorts will be an instant sell-out. Definitely the easiest pieces to rock, and probably most affordable. Looks like there will be other tees and sweaters available as well.

The collection was originally due to launch this month. However, with the global pandemic, Jordan and Dior were smart enough to realize this drop would cause mayhem and be an added risk to the consumers health and safety. So, the launch remains on hold. Once this decides to launch, it will sell out instantly. Stock up on your Stock X cash if you’re looking to cop a piece!
