Styling the Air Force 1 High Utility

6.25.20

The Nike Air Force 1 is a classic, a staple in everyone’s closet. While it has been redone in thousands of colors, different variations and silhouettes, hightop sneakers can be intimidating for ladies, especially when they have straps and bold words on them. The Nike Air Force 1 Hi Utility is a bit less girly than most of the platform Air Forces we see today. It is almost like a sneaker boot, to be honest. Still, I love my Nike Air Force 1 Hi Utility sneakers. These babies were from the “Force is Female” collection. I figured with everything that is going on in the world, this week would be a great week to celebrate women in the sneaker game. I think I have something for everyone in this look book. Yes, we are dressing them up, and we are certainly getting cozy as well.

Cozy Vibes Only

It may sound crazy, but I have been looking for this sweatsuit for months! You guys already know I love my sets, and this is just a cute, classic black one. The sweater is slight cropped with a cozy turtle neck that can be worn up or folded down. The sweats cinch at the waist, and at the ankle; perfect for turning these pants into capris to show off your high-top kicks! I love the all black with this sneaker which uses black as it’s secondary color. This will totally make the “Force+ Female” messaging on the straps stand out more. Girl it up a bit with some silver bracelets, a Tory clutch, matching scrunchie, and these super cute blue-ray glasses (incase of too much texting, or maybe working at the coffee shop).

Ball Game

Honestly one of my favorite outfits of all time. I’ve worn this look to the mall and to run some errands. If you’re up for it, wear it to the bar during the day, hanging out at the park, or hey, maybe a pre-season Raiders game. This look gives layers to minimalism. Black and white everything. Some thick, hightop biker shorts, with a cropped hoodie. I love how this looks with the jersey thrown over the hoodie, buttons opened. The sneakers go so well with the look because of the black and white theme, and even down to the letter logos on the hoodie sleeve, the back of the jersey, and the sneakers straps and toe box. Put this look on and you're either hott slaying a bum look, or serving casual, carless vibes. Either way, everyone else wants in.

Black Out

With the outfit, that is. Who mixes Abercrombie & Fitch with sneakers so much? Yes, this amazing, flowy, body suit is from Abercrombie, along with these high-top, belted mom jeans. Many times, I like to wear skinny jeans with my sneakers to show them off, but if I’m being honest, a thick chunky sneaker looks so dope with baggy jeans over them, as well. These jeans are a loose, straight cut, so they’ll hover the sneakers just enough to get the hint of the look, but still show some branding on feet. The shirt is a bit dressy, the jeans could go either way, and the shoes are sneakers so it all really blends together as an amazing outfit, that looks bomb, that not everyone would think of. Throw on some accessories here to sparkle up the black out.

Miss Me With That BS

I mean, I wouldn’t want to mess with you in this outfit. This place denim skirt has subtle cream pin stripes, matching the cream waffle tee, which is also seen on the sole and swoosh of the sneakers. The color combo is perfect, as the skirt is essentially the opposite of the sneakers and splits it up between the top. Making a mini skirt chill, then throwing on sneakers, simply means you mean business. I would wear this to work, when you’re at a function you know you’ll be running around at, maybe a lunch where you’ll be walking or just want to flex some foot game while looking cute.

CEO of Dress Up

Blazers and sneakers go hand and hand nowadays. What once never seemed right, is a wonderful trend today. I’ve worn biker shorts and a tank with this blazer and sneakers. It brought similar vibes to the ‘Ball Game’ look above, just a tad more dressy. To bring it up another level, I swapped that out with this cute mini dress. I love mini dresses with a blazer that is just as long, so you seem business in the front, and not so chunky/layered in the back. I’d take this look shopping at a higher-end or outdoor mall, lunch on a patio, anywhere you can be classy and show off your shoe game, too.

Court Side Heat Game

Front and center with the heat, I mean. I’m obsessed with this set. A mini crop tank with a bow at the middle. These pants are loose fitted straight pants, so they give off a super flowy and chill vibe. Throw on some hightops, grab your clutch, and show the world, that the Force is Female. A perfect summer outfit for anywhere that people are going to see you. I will be wearing this to plenty of brunches and hoping I do not spill.
