Styling the Air Jordan 6

10.1.20

The Jordan 6 is a style that you usually see large men rocking. Particularly, basketball players. It is a high top silhouette with tons of different layers and pieces that almost give it a bulky sneaker vibe. With that, the sneaker may seem intimidating for fashion wardrobing, but aside from bulky men rocking the shoes, I also think they are so cute in small sizes, for girls to rock as well. Jeans and a top is a classic for any high top sneaker, the Jordan 6 especially, but we will get into more ways the one, so you can add these kicks to your rotation.

This week, I am styling the Air Jordan 6 Retro ‘Chrome.’ I have wanted a pair of sixes for so long, I was just waiting for the right pair to come along. The Chrome colorway was a women’s specific drop, and I knew this was the one. With a mainly black suede upper, there are silver patches creating an amazing design up the upper, as the sole is black and cream with similar patters and lines pairing to the patch work above. The tongue gives you a chrome feel with it’s silver color and almost plastic-like texture. The heel tab on the back is also this texture, in a translucent color or material. My favorite part about these kicks is that they come with a large chrome Jumpman hangtag, and three pairs of laces! The laces are black, gray and a really beautiful blue. The blue may seem random from a far, but there is a blue Jumpman logo on the bottom of the sneakers, and a blue Jumpman logo on the tie tightener button on the laces. For now, we’ll style with the black laces, but just know this means your options are truly endless.

Tatted Up

I just love my Tatts Set from Adika. It just so happens they came in at the same time as my Jordan Chromes. How perfect are these together? The colors are exceptionally on points. I like that the base of the outfit is matching with the sole of the sneaker, so the upper breaks up the coloring quite nicely. Obviously, gotta have the cinched ankles on the sweatpants to show off the entirety of the hightop kicks, which this look has. I am for sure rocking this look all fall and winter long.

Not My Boyfriend’s Hoodie

Ladies, don’t steal your boyfriend’s hoodie, get your hoodie and dress in one. This has got to be the coziest thing in the world, probably one of my favorite pieces. Who needs pants?! No pants, not problem with this look as you are super comfortable, ready for fall, and ready to show off your new kicks that stand out and match so well. Accessorize with scrunchies, glasses, whatever makes you feel cute and cozy. I’d wear this look shopping, studying or just hanging out with the crew.

Sweater Weather

Sweater weather is amongst us but our cozy fits will only get fresher. I love this gray sweater that is ribbed sideways with just a slight turtleneck. It is perfect for necklace layering, where you can add on to your chrome theme, or you could throw on a scarf, probably black, maybe blue if you change up your laces. Any black legging would do, I love these ones because the have the silver zipper on each ankle which is a perfect match to go with your chrome sneakers and necklace vibe. This is a look that can certainly be dressed up or down and repurposed for many occasions.

Jumpman Please Can I Have Another Hit

The long sleeve tee and denim skinny jeans classic, at your service. I love this gray wash denim which gives a bit of a differentiating look then any old denim and tee fit. Obviously with a black top, they are the perfect pairing for these kicks. Expand your chrome game with this silver chain belt, and any another bling you may feel appropriate. Heck, you can even leave the Jumpman hangtag on. This outfit is super cute, and so easy, you can wear it anywhere - it will always be a hit.

Causal Business

What does business causal even mean? We are just going to worry about doing casual business. Blazers are streetwear’s best friend, that you can wear over any dress or jumpsuits. I love this gray wool jacket and black jumpsuit to pair with the black and gray kicks and bring this look all together. The bulkiness of the jacket is a great match for the sneakers, broken up nicely with the fitted jumpsuit underneath it all. This boxy purse will complete your look, looking absolutely fiery in any sense of the term. I would wear this to some sort of semi fancy semi causal outing or maybe a boujee tea party or shopping trip.

Seeing Right Thru You

There are so many things about this outfit that work. First, of course the jumpsuit. I love a wide pant with a chunky hightop sneaker, and this will do just the trick. They are not too long or baggy to hide the kicks, but flowy and just the right length so you get a glimpse of the whole look with every step you take. The pinstripes are also a nice touch with the gray details over a black canvas that the sneaker shares, as well. This sheer top goes underneath the jumpsuit, and the floral embroidery pairs through. A fabulous pairing on it’s own, and kind of tells a funny transparent story, like the transparent pull tab on the heel, or air bubble on the sole. The perfect outfit to look your best, and remain cool and comfortable.
