Styling the PUMA Future Rider

8.12.20

The PUMA Future Rider is a modern take on their old silhouette, the Fast Rider. The foam sole is extremely comfortable, the silhouette is slim so can really work with any look, and there are colors for days. A monochrome or all black fit are my go to and my favorite. However, there is so much space for fun with color. With names color way names like Play On, this style series is fun, playful, with tons of summertime bright colors.

Ride Out

This is just the perfect casual, Sunday errands look. The coziest crewneck, biker shorts, and sneakers that feel like pillows. Throw on a cap if you’re having a bad hair day, and a sporty backpack to hold your belongings. This is the key look of 2020.

Business Is Not Casual

Corporate dress codes are going away. Especially now that we are all at home. I like to dress up my sneakers to the max when I go to work, just to say I can. Whether your environment is relaxed, or trying to get there, have fun with your looks. This button up top is super professional, with a patterned skirt to color block the sneakers. This is a thing this year, and I actually did wear this look to Complex Con last November.

Roses Are Red

I typically do not love wearing red because it clashes with my hair. However, when I wear these shoes I feel like I can rock anything. My favorite to wear with these sneakers actually is, red. This jumpsuit comes with spaghetti straps that are easily removable if you prefer a strapless look. The bow-tie from is super cute and flatters, and the bodice is loose and relaxed. This gives a very chill vibe even though it may look too fancy for sneakers at first. To sport it up a little more, grab your mini backpack, or to dress it up, add some statement jewelry.

Play On

As I kind of mentioned earlier, the colorway of this Future Rider in particular is “Play On.” Of course, every week you have your ‘going-out’ look in sneakers. Because of the super bright colors, I recommend a light wash denim, but you can spice it up with buttons, distress, mom-jeans, whatever you like. When you are rocking high waisted definitely go with the lacey crop top, and a leather jacket if needed to cover your shoulders. A classic for the bars, brewery, etc. Cute and comfy.

Brighten Up My Day

This look is some serious conquering summer vibes. This jumpsuit is cute and super cozy with its exaggerated wide legs, and ties at the ankles to keep you from dragging on the ground - or, showing off your kicks. The green does not match exact but I like it for this because it is truly the comfiest combo ever, and a clear summer time beach vibes, where color is everything. Throw on some shades and a boxy bag to match your boxy pants, we’re going to the boardwalk.

Rider Die

A slimming dress and a slimming sneaker is the perfect match. But if you are feeling a bit too basic on top to go with your colorful kicks, layering can be done in all seasons of the year. The ventilation vest was originally made for runners, but is now a staple in the streetwear apparel industry. This one here, I made myself using FENTY sneaker dust bugs, and some other materials I had lying around. The suede of the dust bag feels right with the small suede panels of the sneaker, and the blue matches almost perfectly. A really great touch to this summer dress that could go chill, fancy or streetwear, to go with your Future Rider.
