Styling the Vibrant Cut Out Sneaker

7.30.20

Sneakers are an amazing way to showcase your personality in your outfit. Sure, you can go classic and match with anything, but there are just some times when you want to have some fun and stand out a bit. The PUMA Muse EOS is a super lightweight sneaker, that takes inspiration from training sneaker technology, but has a lifestyle twist. This version in particular, is pretty extreme with criss cross straps that lace with an actual buckle, as well as cut outs on each side of the shoe.

The shoe comes in a number of colors, but my favorite is the black and yellow. They are super loud but in my opinion, is still the cleanest colorway. This sneaker is perfect for the summer and even beach vibes. The material is stretchy comfortable, and of course they’re quite breathable as well. Black is going to be your go to so you can let your sneakers speak, but there is still a lot of fun to be had with this one.

Trucking Along

The sneaker screams sporty but sexy, and so does this outfit. Biker shorts and crop tank have been a thing for the past two summers, so of course this KITH Coke collab went crazy. However, you can obviously pair these with any biker short and tank top set, or sporty romper. I love the backpack and the hat with this as they both have long black straps that match the criss cross straps on the sneakers. I would really wear this anywhere, running errands, on the pier, going for a walk, etc. When you want to look as great but as casual as possible, you cannot beat this.

Pull Through

Matching your sneakers exactly to your outfit can be a bit much, but pulling through just the right amount of color can make the outfit complete. These shorts have yellow stitching on the light pin stripe design, which is why I thought they worked great for this look. The shorts have a bow tie belt, and a relaxed boxy look. To offset this, a fitted white tee underneath. Let the bottoms roar. I would definitely wear this look to a lunch, barbecue or small gathering.

Beach Bum

If you are going to wear a sneaker on the beach, it has to be this one. It almost feels like it was meant to be a water shoe, or beach shoe. I still would not wear sneakers on the beach, but maybe on the way there. They totally give off beach and summer vibes. My new favorite bathing suit it my KITH bathing suite with hightop bottoms and a sports bra-like top with a cut out. Obviously the cut outs in the top and sneaker match up well. This coverup ties in covering as much as you want, but remaining sheer to show off your entire look. Show stopping at the beach, no doubt.

A Bit of Flare

The flare pants and the high top sneaker. It is not obvious that the sneakers are high, but the ankle pieces do raise high for easy entry and saving the ankles since the material is so flexible and cushiony. The flared pants will cover this, but leave just a peak of the buckles and PUMA tag on the straps, leaving this look classic, but detailed. A great look for a classy, but fun night.

Brighten My Day

This is the daytime outfit that never stops giving. Matching the sneakers exact would be obnoxious, but this halter top tones down the vibe to just the right level. I would tuck in the top to this denim high waisted mini skirt, throw on some accessories and show off the shoes. Easy way to look cute and be comfortable throughout your day. Nice for a brunch or chill meeting of some sort.

Turn the Lights On

Here is your “going out” outfit. A black jumpsuit with criss cross straps and a front zipper. This look can already be dressed up or dressed down. Perhaps you throw a t-shirt underneath, a sweater over your shoulders, or just rock it as is. The sneakers will bring lightness to the look, and the scrunchie will give us a sleek high pony tail vibes with this look. Hello, we’re open for business.
