Women’s Air Jordan OG ‘University Blue’

In 1998, Jordan Brand released the first women’s specific Air Jordan silhouette. It was inspired by a community of women, with the same passion, skills, determination and goals as men. The technology in the sneakers were built with great traction and good leather, just as the sneakers that Michael Jordan wore himself on court. Two decades later, to inspire a new generation of women, Jordan releases the Air Jordan OG.

The Air Jordan OG looks like a basketball sneaker. This colorway that I will be styling today is actually the third drop of the year. The first colorway was a white base with black and red retails, like a Chicago colorway Jordan. Teyana Taylor modeled for the shoot, and it was absolutely incredible. Second, was a completely black upper, with a red sole and a cherries laces tag. The piping overlay details were 3M. This drop was an exclusive drop with fashion and accessories designer, Melody Ehsani. Both were incredible and I contemplated buying both, so when this colorway came out, I knew it was my time. This colorway is mostly white with some light blue details. Although representing UNC, I’d say this makes it a bit more feminine, and easier to match with outfits that are more for going out, opposed to the playing basketball. Of course, this sneaker would be great for playing basketball as well, however, sneakers have become the norm in style-trend fashion today, so we are here to dress them up.

Cozy Girls

There is nothing better than looking fly and being cozy while you do it. This jumpsuit is a super soft, thin sweater material. The legs will be baggy, but tight down at your ankles, to pull in a great fit, and show off your kicks. I like the rose gold zipper here, which brings a lightness to the jumpsuit, where the sneakers are all light in color. I’ll throw in the navy handbag, to remind everyone this look is for fierce ladies only.

Street Cool

Skinny denim always seems to be a go-to when styling a pair of hightop sneakers. With this look, I’d go with a super dark, or black denim, to offset the white sneakers from the top. Then, throw on a cute, white crop top, to tie back in the sneakers. Accessorize with a bold chunky necklace, and a chain cross body to match. Pretty simple, but so many ways you can spice it up, make it your own, and be the coolest lady on the block.

The Intellectual Baller

If you have a business meeting with Michael Jordan, you’re going on a date to a basketball game, or maybe you’re just going out with some friends in the city, but you know there will be lots of walking, this is your look. A completely white sneaker with baby blue details absolutely screams it is spring time. Throw on a pair of skinny denim and this cute off-the-shoulder top, cinched in with a bow belt. Super cute and classy look, with a silver necklace and handbag. You are a lady, but you know how to ball. Go get you bag.

Jumpshot Killer

My favorite type of outfit, a jumpsuit. This jumpsuit is form fitting to let your sneakers shine, and accessorize in many ways. With an all-black one piece, I’d pull over this light blue cropped sweater. It will pull together the blue lining in the sneakers perfectly, and it brings a cozy factor to this hott look. You may accessorize with necklaces and bracelets here, and don’t forget your boxy handbag. We’re not messing around here.

Classy Like MJ

Watching the last dance, we know MJ was so serious about the game, basketball is all he really cared about. He talked about how he’d leave the room if other teammates were participating in scandalous activities, and he’d drag them to practice when they did not want to go. So let’s just call him classy, as we dress up our final, show-stopper look. This set is a matching top and skirt, a light sweater material. The skirt has one high slit, and the top is a halter that has a similar slit in the back from the hem to the neckline. This looks really nice on, and you can pair with some jewelry and the classic crossbody to match. Throwing on the Air Jordan OG with this look will bring this down to just the right amount of elegant but casual. Maybe for a boat cruise that is semi-casual, or anything you’re hoping to dress up and show out at. This is look that verifies “get you someone that can do both.”
