A Boogie’s Birthday Disaster
12.9.20
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie celebrated his twenty-fifth birthday over the weekend, but the festivities quickly came to an end. Senseless acts of violence outside of the venue where he had celebrated his birthday had caused a commotion, which later led to a house raid, and arrest of several members of A Boogie’s crew. A year that had originally started off strong for A Boogie, is coming to a close on a scary note.
Sunday December 6th was A Boogie’s 25th birthday. To celebrate, him and some friends had attended a nightclub in Brooklyn. On the way out, things got messy when a shootout occurred. Allegedly, A Boogie’s driver backed into another vehicle, and a fight broke out, which further lead to shots being fired.
While there are no reported serious injuries, the case is still being investigated. It does appear that while police authorities were investigating this situation, they made their way to A Boogie’s house, with a warrant for search. In doing so, they uncovered various weapons, bullets and drugs.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a handgun and one count of possession of marijuana. One count of unlawful possession may not be worse case scenario for A Boogie, where authorities have said to find a Ruger .380 handgun, a Glock .40 caliber handgun, an H&K 9mm handgun, and a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, as well as hollow point bullets. One count of possession of marijuana also stems from officials findings of marijuana, hashish oil edibles and drug paraphernalia that appeared to be sources used to distribute.
In addition to A Boogie’s charges, one of his security guards, and his manager were arrested. While they have all since been released, they will need to make an appearance in front of a judge. Hopefully A Boogie and team can stay low-key for some time until this clears over.
This news comes after a really great year for A Boogie. Not only did he have his second child and first son, but he dropped an album and a deluxe. Though there have been some quarrels within the friend group and other members of the hip-hop industry, it had seemed that up until now A Boogie was doing his best to remain far from the law. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case for rappers in general, this year.
G Herbo and Casanova are two others that were recently arrested for fraud and racketeering. Additionally, it appears that artist Quando Rondo is on a close watch by the Feds, as his shows continue to get shut down in fear of gangs and violence, after the King Von shooting.
