Fat Joe’s Instagram Lives have been the one consistent thing that has been in our lives during the year of 2020. That, and how scary this year has really been - a true series of unfortunate events. Joe’s chats are always fun, interesting and informative, but this weekend’s chat got pretty real. We hear from Maino, Jim Jones and himself on their situations growing up, and how the new kids in the industry all appear to be in great danger.

If you are familiar with Fat Joe, Maino and Jim Jones, you know that they have all done their time, but ultimately came out successful and clean. What we may have thought would never come true growing up, these guys are all using their platforms now in attempts to help the youth and younger generations. On this week’s live, Fat Joe takes his turn with each guest artist, saying that he wants to call this Live “Rappers Are In Danger.”

In discussions with Maino, they talked about everything going on in the world right now. We lost Nipsey Hussle way too soon. Today is the one year anniversary of loosing Juice WRLD. Earlier this year, we lost Pop Smoke to gun violence, and most recently, King Von to the same thing. There are so many others that were on their way, that were just taken too soon.

Then, you have those like Casanova that was just booked on racketeering charges. Joe and Maino spoke on how there were eighteen people involved and arrested in this case, but Casanova was the only person anyone would hear about, as he was the rapper with a name in the situation.

This is not even to mention that there was just a shoot out at A Boogie’s birthday over the weekend. To keep it rolling, the same thing happened in Vegas on Moneybagg Yo’s birthday, and it just seems like the violence is never ending. These two had a really great conversation about accepting your position in the world and doing what you can to get out of the streets. They spoke about knowing your surrounding and what you can do to protect yourself in certain situations. It was nice to hear them try to teach and spread wisdom, hopefully some are listening, because during these current times specifically, the new generation needs to take care of themselves.

During Joe’s discussion with Jim Jones, Jim touched out the fact that artists are outing themselves on social media, telling the world about every incident that they encounter. This is apparently how Pop Smoke was found, while renting a home outside of his home state. We could also mention that this is why Tekashi 6ix9ine needs to move house every other week. By doing so, the public can do some crazy things upon finding you, and you just never know what can happen.

Joe got pretty emotional, bringing up a time that Remy went to jail because another woman claimed that Remy punched her. He explained they were literally working together at a charity, and that the two were together for the entire night. This incident could have really messed up Remy’s career and life, because she had been arrested before. Luckily, it blew over rather quickly since the scenario was made up.

Jim Jones mentioned all the shootings and problems that have been happening of recent times, and says that it is everyone’s fault. Whether it be jealousy or an ego. He says sometimes rappers think that they are superman and they can do whatever without any consequences because of their name. However, nowadays, the police are coming for rappers in every which way that they can. While artists used to constantly use the phrase “Stay Dangerous,” that is now subsequently changing to “Stay Safe,” a phrase that is used far too often in times where things can really get dangerous.

We had hoped for the year to end on a high note, but the violence has to end somewhere. Joe seemed to be getting into the holiday spirit, and you may find in his background. Hopefully, some of the new rappers pay attention and hear these guys out. It was a one hour and twelve minute conversation, which was really inspiring and smart.
