Metro Boomin Heroes & Villians 12.2.22

Metro Boomin is gearing up to drop a new album, but fans will have to wait a few more weeks. Though the original release date was next Friday, Metro let fans know that due to come clearance issues on a few major songs, the album release will be pushed back until December 2nd, in order to keep the full project how he imagines.

Metro Boomin’s upcoming album is titled Heroes and Villains. While the track list does not yet seem to be confirmed, we may be expecting features from Young Thug, A$AP Rocky, Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, and more, based on Genius’ Track List.

Metro is not the only one to move their release date back lately, as 21 Savage and Drake announced they’d be pushing back their album a week as well, due to a team member coming down with Covid. If the project is done, does it matter?

DJ Akademiks responded to hearing artists pushing back their release dates, and suggests they do not want to drop the same day as Ice Spice, who announced her next big single will drop this Friday. Sometimes, artists do not want their work to be overshadowed if it is a big week for new music, and fans are sure to be interested to see what the viral artist [Ice Spice] will come up with next.

Metro Boomin shared a tweet to let fans know he was working on clearing some remaining samples, and that he would never change the release date because of another artist. Sounds like Akademiks’ message was heard loud and clear.

Are you excited for a new Metro Boomin tape? Do heavy New Music Fridays cause you to pick and choose what new music you listen to?
