I Died For This!?

GRIP is Eminem’s new artist to sign to Shady Records, whom has his first project under label releasing this upcoming Friday. The album is not only being heavily supported by the label, and Eminem personally, but there is also a confirmed track list with a number of heavy hitter features.
GRIP is an artist from Atlanta, whom has been rapping for years but has not seem to been able to make much of a name for himself, up until now. On July 1st, Eminem shared an image with GRIP in the studio, and Shady Records made the announcement the following day that GRIP was the new signee to their label.
For many years, GRIP had been an independent artist releasing music consistently, but experienced some trouble with getting the support he needed in order to really blow up, especially since the global pandemic had occurred which shut down even more opportunities for exposure, concerts and press interviews and media. It was reported that GRIP was ready to put the music behind him, until he got the call from Shady.
Eminem studies music so deeply before making any judgements, and states he was interested in GRIP after hearing his album Snubnose back in 2019. Finally they were able to make something happen, and GRIP is beginning to get some buzz around the industry.
Not only did Eminem and the label share the news about their new signee, he also had people intrigued with his freestyle from Infinite Vibes. GRIP breezed over an Eminem beat, name dropped Joyner Lucas and his new Shady deal, and had multiple punchlines that would make your jaw drop wanting more. Previews have been released for multiple interviews and Q&As from the artist, which can all be found on his Twitter page.
Not only did GRIP get the media coverage that he deserved and needed, but he also dropped the album artwork and track list that has people even more excited. The track list includes seventeen tracks, one with Royce Da 5’9 and one with Eminem. As if Eminem posting the album and preaching about GRIP as an artist was not enough, he feels strongly enough about his new artist to hop on one of the tracks for his debut project under Shady Records. The co-sign from the lyrical genius of Royce should be taken just as incredible.
There is a new wave of music coming back to the forefront, and Eminem is doing everything he can to get these guys center stage. First, Griselda brought back hip-hop to once it once was for the youth, under the label of Shady Records. Next up, and artist similarly as passionate about old hip-hop, lyrics and sound. Hopes are high for this new project releasing this Friday.
