Rick Ross Approves Ye and Drake Beef

Kanye West, Drake

Kanye West and Drake have stirred up just a little bit of a rap beef over the past few weeks. While Kanye West has had three release dates this year for Donda, the world is also still waiting on Drake to finally drop Certified Lover Boy. With the Internet being what it is, of course people started making jokes and speculations that one of them was waiting for the other to drop, to make their album most desirable. As it turns out, they each had something to say about this.

Kanye West is no stranger to a little album release date competition. It was 2007 when he and 50 Cent dropped on the same day, and 50 Cent promised to quit hip-hop if Kanye had out-sold him. Not a bad race at the time, but ultimately, 50 Cent dropped Curtis selling 691,000 copies first week, while Ye dropped Graduation, selling 956,000 copies first week. At this time, 50 Cent was at the top of his game, so who is to say that Ye would be scared of dropping the same day as Drake, today?

Well, it was actually Drake who made the first chess move. It was a surprising feature in my eyes, but Drake made a guest appearance on Trippie Redd’s latest album, Trip At Night. On the third track on the project, Betrayal, Drake has a verse, where one of his lines reads:

All these fools I'm beefin' that I barely know
Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go
Ye ain't changin' shit for me, it's set in stone

It is an apparent diss towards Kanye and Pusha T, both in their mid-forties whom Drake is known to have beef with. He is, though, acknowledging the idea that the album release date may be affected by when Kanye West finally decides to drop. Drake says this will not happen, and the project is set-in-stone. Well then, Drake, what is the release date!?

Kanye quickly responds by sharing a screenshot of a group text message, apparently adding Push to the text, and speaking towards Drake. The message read:

I live for this

I’ve been getting f*** by nerd a** jock **** like you my whole life

You will never recover

I promise you

The message also includes the image of a joker, and the message appears to be within a group of eight others. Just a few days later, Kanye decided to share a map with the address to Drake’s home.

Soon after Ye shared Drake’s address, Drake posted a video of himself in his car laughing at the camera. Is Drake cool with this? Will he move? Is this all an act for attention and album sales?

Rick Ross has since done a Sirius XM interview, speaking his thoughts on the matter. Rozzay has worked with each of the artists, so it would be interesting to hear what he has to say about all of this feuding. He actually says that he loves it, and sees the artists crafts on each side. Ross said that he spoke to Drake the night prior, and they both laughed at the situation. To be blunt, Rozzay says “who does’t have Drake’s address already, it is the only grand mansion in Canada.” And hey, he does have a point there. It is not hard to find out this information.

It does seem like the feud between the two artists is certainly not as deep and personal as some may believe. But if I do know one thing, they better both bring this energy on these new albums we are waiting for.
