Styling the Women’s Air Jordan OG
5.21.20
In 1998, Jordan Brand released the first women’s specific Air Jordan silhouette. It was inspired by a community of women, with the same passion, skills, determination and goals as men. The technology in the sneakers were built with great traction and good leather, just as the sneakers that Michael Jordan wore himself on court. Two decades later, to inspire a new generation of women, Jordan releases the Air Jordan OG.
The Air Jordan OG looks like a basketball sneaker. This colorway that I will be styling today is actually the third drop of the year. The first colorway was a white base with black and red retails, like a Chicago colorway Jordan. Teyana Taylor modeled for the shoot, and it was absolutely incredible. Second, was a completely black upper, with a red sole and a cherries laces tag. The piping overlay details were 3M. This drop was an exclusive drop with fashion and accessories designer, Melody Ehsani. Both were incredible and I contemplated buying both, so when this colorway came out, I knew it was my time. This colorway is mostly white with some light blue details. Although representing UNC, I’d say this makes it a bit more feminine, and easier to match with outfits that are more for going out, opposed to the playing basketball. Of course, this sneaker would be great for playing basketball as well, however, sneakers have become the norm in style-trend fashion today, so we are here to dress them up.
