Griselda has been arguably the most consistent artists in terms of dropping new music on the regular, for the past year and change. Not only that, but they have their fare share of success in movies and soundtracks. The next on their list, The Harder They Fall Soundtrack, with features from none other that their mentor, Jay-Z, and others. The movie is out now in theaters, and the soundtrack will release this upcoming Friday, October 29th.
The Harder They Fall is a black outlaw Netflix film. While available for viewing in some theaters already, the film will be available to stream on Netflix on November 3rd. Likely the main storyline of the film, includes one outlaw whom is released from prison, and returns to his old gang to seek revenge. The trailer showcases what seems like two black outlaws breaking into a train carrying a slave, and freeing the slave, offing all those whom were on the train. Then, much action, horses and violence. Idris Elba, Regina King, Jonathan Majors, Jazie Beetz and LaKeith Stanfield are amongst some of the cast from the film. Jay-Z, is one of the film’s producers.
Director Jeymes Samuel did an interview stating that Jay-Z has a wonderful eye for film, and they have a relationship about chatting through films, different opinions on films, and alternative ways and ideas to portray a story. Now, Jay-Z has a role of co-producer, and is also featured on the film’s soundtrack.
Conway the Machine and the Griselda Records page shared a single snippet, including scenes from the film, a preview of the track, and large text to let us know: this track includes Conway the Machine, Jay-Z, Jadakiss and Backroad Gee, and titled, King Kong Riddim. Jada and Backroad also shared the news about the track. Especially with Conway, Jay and Jada, we already know this track is about to be insanely bar and lyrical heavy. Everyone will be fighting for that top verse. The rest of the soundtrack, likely will not be able to meet these expectations, but should be pretty solid nonetheless, given Jay’s Roc Roster and extent to producing the film.
