Nike SB Dunk

7-Eleven

Release Date: 7/11 (Hopefully)

Retail: TBD

Resell: TBD (‘Big Gulp’ $240-$675)

The latest Nike SB Dunk collaboration has yet to be confirmed, but was recently leaked by sample and sneaker leaker, SoleByJC. JC shared with us a few images of the release, stating that this is in fact, a real shoe, not a mock up. Of course, this got immediate attraction and buzz. Everyone loves a good SB Dunk collab. We’re hoping this shoe drops on 7/11, because when else would they release them?

The Lo Dunk has some crazy color blocking of red, green and orange, to match the 7-Eleven logo at the heel. Though these colors together are usually absolutely horrid, I think the gum sole brings the shoe together quite nicely, and it tells a clear story. This will be another for sure sell out.

Nike did a High Dunk back in 2008, referred to as “Big Gulp.” Though this was not an official collaboration with 7-Eleven, the shoe made clear references to the widely known and recognizable 7-Eleven cup. The High was a red suede upper, with a perforated toe box and the middle panels for ventilation, or reminiscent of the bubbles and air wholes on the plastic top of you cup. The inner lining was brown, tying back to the Coke you’ve filled your cup with. The shoes also had green laces to accent the green letters, symbols, straws, etc. of the Big Gulp cup. It looks like 7-Eleven is ready to make an official collaboration, now that the SB is using their whole logo.

This one will go over super well with sneakerheads and kids of all generations. I remember in middle school when it was nice outside, all the kids in the neighborhood would ride our bikes down to the 7/11, grab a slurpie and hangout. Quite frowned upon by some, especially since ours is in between a church and a fire station, but those were some great times. Who knows if we’ll be able to go grab free slurpies on this year’s 7/11, but we may be able to get some new kicks.
